Billboard Chart Flash: July 26 – Aug. 1

Last week, Carrie Underwood scored her 10th Billboard number one song as “Undo It” reached the summit while Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now returned to the top of the albums chart after spending a week at number two. This week, one of those two artists vacated their respective number spots. Find out who it is in this week’s Billboard chart flash.

On the albums chart, Lady Antebellum spends its 26 non-consecutive week at number one as the group’s Need You Now album sold another 27,000 copies to lead all country albums. Once again following Lady A is the Zac Brown Band’s The Foundation which has been calling the number two spot home for the past few weeks. Staying put at number three is Jerrod Niemann’s debut album, Judge Jerrod and the Hung Jury, while Miranda Lambert’s ACM award winning album, Revolution, stays at number four. Once again rounding out the top five is Carrie Underwood’s Play On.

Over on the Hot Country Songs chart, Jerrod Niemann’s “Lover, Lover” leaps up two spots to take over number one. This is Niemann’s first number one single and comes just two weeks after his album debuted at number one, knocking out Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now. Spending another week at number two is the Zac Brown Band’s “Free” while Keith Urban’s “I’m In” jumps up two spots to number three. After spending a week at number one last week, Carrie Underwood slides down three spots to number four with her tenth number one single, “Undo It.” Making its first appearance in the top five is Blake Shelton’s “All About Tonight.”

Leading this week’s debut songs is Rascal Flatts with “Why Wait” which comes in at no. 34. Following Rascal Flatts are Luke Bryan’s “Someone Else Calling You Baby” (no. 52), Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Country Song” (no. 55), Sarah Marince’s “In The Meantime” (no. 59), and Craig Campbell’s “Family Man” (no. 60). This week’s highest leaping songs is Sugarland’s “Stuck Like Glue” which skyrockets from number 44 to number 22 after making its debut last week.

That wraps up this week’s Billboard Chart Flash! Next week could be a battle for number one on the singles chart as Jerrod Niemann could face a heated challenge from the Zac Brown Band and Keith Urban. Find out who will finish on top in next week’s Chart Flash.
